About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Paralegal to join our Care Department. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, proactive professional with strong family law experience who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and busy legal team.
You will provide high-quality legal and administrative support across a varied caseload, working closely with solicitors and clients and helping to ensure matters progress efficiently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting solicitors with a varied children and care caseload.
- Assisting with matters involving children, care proceedings and related family law issues.
- Preparing legal documents, statements and correspondence.
- Liaising professionally with clients, solicitors, courts and other relevant agencies.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and ensuring key deadlines are met.
- Conducting legal research and assisting with case preparation.
- Managing a caseload effectively and prioritising work according to urgency.
- Providing a high standard of client care, particularly when dealing with sensitive and complex family matters.
- Supporting the wider Family Care team with day-to-day case management.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience working as a Paralegal within family law, care proceedings or children law.
- Strong knowledge of family and care proceedings and relevant court processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- A professional, empathetic and client-focused approach.
- The confidence to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team.
- A commitment to confidentiality, professional standards and high-quality legal work.
