Lincoln Cathedral

Hawley & Rogers are based in towns and cities across the East Midlands and we love our neck of the woods! Some of the best sights are located here and we’ve got a rich regional culture. Here’s why we love the East Midlands.

Robin Hood

Arguably Nottingham’s most famous son, Robin Hood is a legend who has become one of the most famous folk heroes in the world. Stealing from the rich and giving to the poor, Robin Hood’s adventures have been retold from generation to generation and he has become an icon of British history.

The Great Central Railway

Stretching between Leicester and Loughborough, The Great Central Railway is the UK’s only mainline, double-track heritage railway. If you’re a fan of trains, this is the only place to see steam trains trundling past each other like they did decades ago. As well as travelling on the railway, you can enjoy a five-course meal on the go with First Class Restaurant Car Services.

Nottingham Carnival

The Nottingham Caribbean Carnival is a city event which has taken place in Nottingham for the past 20 years and celebrates our rich and diverse cultural heritage. During the festivities, there’s music, dancing, extravagant outfits and great food.

Lincoln Cathedral

Built across a period of over 200 years, Lincoln Cathedral was the tallest building in the world - overtaking the Great Pyramid of Giza - for 238 years until the spire collapsed. It’s often considered the pinnacle of middle-aged architecture and is a stunning example of a gothic church.

Stilton Cheese

Who doesn’t like a bit of Stilton? Although the cheese’s namesake is a town in Cambridgeshire and it was first made there in the 1800s, the cheese now has a ‘Protected Designation of Origin’ status which means that it can only be made in the East Midland counties of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire to an exact recipe. We’re proud to be the homeland of the ‘King of English Cheeses.’
